Georgia Inflation Rate at Near 3-1/2 Year High of 7%
The annual inflation rate in Georgia inched higher 7.0 percent in November of 2019 from 6.9 percent in the previous month. It was the highest inflation rate since June 2016, as cost advanced faster for housing & utilities (2.7 percent vs 1.9 percent in October); transport (3.1 percent vs 3.0 percent); health (3.3 percent vs 3.2 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (5.3 percent vs 4.9 percent); restaurants & hotels (7.4 percent vs 6.9 percent), and alcoholic beverages & tobacco (15.4 percent vs 13.8 percent).Meanwhile, cost went up softer for: food and non-alcoholic beverages (13.4 percent vs 13.5 percent); furniture & household equipment (2.1 percent vs 4.2 percent); recreation & culture (7.0 percent vs 7.3 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.9 percent, following a 0.8 percent gain in October.

The annual inflation rate in Georgia rose 6.9 percent in October of 2019 from 6.4 percent in the previous month. It was the highest inflation rate since November 2017, as cost advanced faster for food and non-alcoholic beverages (13.5 percent vs 11.7 percent in September); furniture & household equipment (4.2 percent vs 3.4 percent); recreation & culture (7.3 percent vs 6.9 percent); and restaurants & hotels (6.9 percent vs 6.7 percent). On the other hand, housing & utilities inflation was steady (at 1.9 percent). Meanwhile, inflation slowed for: transport (3.0 percent vs 3.9 percent); health (3.2 percent vs 4.0 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (4.9 percent vs 5.0 percent), and alcoholic beverages & tobacco (13.8 percent vs 14.6 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.8 percent, following a 1.7 percent rise in September.

On the other hand, transport cost slowed (3.9 percent vs 4.4 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 1.7 percent, following a 0.8 percent rise in August.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.8 percent, from a flat reading in July.

Annual inflation rate in Georgia increased to 4.6 percent in July of 2019 from 4.3 percent in the previous month. Cost rose faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (7.9 percent vs 6.5 percent in June); transport (3.9 percent vs 3.2 percent); health (3.5 percent vs 2.9 percent); furniture & household goods (1.5 percent vs 0.9 percent) recreation & culture (5.6 percent vs 5 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (1.9 percent vs 0.8 percent) and restaurant & hotels (3.4 percent vs 2.5 percent). On the other hand, prices slowed for housing & utilities (1.7 percent vs 1.8 percent) and alcoholic beverages & tobacco (13.7 percent vs 20.1 percent). Meanwhile, inflation was steady for education (2.6 percent) and prices continued to decrease for communication (-2.4 percent vs-2.6 percent) and clothing & footwear (-7.1 percent vs -6.9 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices showed no growth, after a 1 percent slump in June.

Annual inflation rate in Georgia decreased to 4.3% in June 2019 from 4.7% in the previous month, as prices slowed mostly for food & non-alcoholic beverages (6.5% vs 7.9% in May); health (2.9% vs 3%) and alcoholic beverages & tobacco (20.1% vs 21.1%). Meantime, inflation was steady for transport (3.2%) and housing & utilities (at 1.8%). In contrast, costs rebounded for furnishings (0.9% vs -0.2%) and rose faster for recreation & culture (5% vs 4.6%); restaurants & hotels (2.5% vs 1.3%) and miscellaneous goods & services (0.8% vs 0.6%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 1%, after increasing 0.5% in the prior month.
